Maintenance BEFORE every use

Connections

  • Have all connections been treated with anti corrosive and ready for the days use ?

Batteries

  • Are batteries charged, in excellent condition, connections clean and lubricated ?

Control box

  • Is the inside of the control box clean and perfectly dry ?

  • Any signs of oxidisation or corrosion in the box ?

  • Anything loose or rattling around inside the box ?

  • Is the box seal clean, no obstructions, lightly lubricated, and “snaps” shut with both locks ?

  • Are you sure that you have not jambed the battery wiring in the lid seal ?

How are those props

  • Are they clear of obstructions ?.

  • Are the blades in good conditions ?

  • Do they turn freely by hand ?

Maintenance DURING use

  • Is Buoybot travelling in slightly nose up attitude ?

  • Anything clogging up the motors ?

Examples of products to use in your preventative maintenance before and after every use.

Maintenance AFTER use

  • Thorough fresh water rinse to all parts of each Buoybot after each and every use.

    • Suggest drop Buoybots in fresh water swimming pool, or bucket and run motors for 30 seconds.

  • Then immediately disconnect batteries,

    • Motors still running or start up unexpectedly ? – see PANIC mode !!

  • Inspect the inside of the control box – is it perfectly clean and dry ?

  • Unplug motors,

    • treat BOTH ends of the connection with lanoline or similar water repellent as per below.

  • Let all components dry
